Promoter Bob Arum didn't have to fly to the Philippines after all to make the deal.
Manny Pacquiao reportedly faxed Arum a signed contract to fight Ricky Hatton on May 2 in Las Vegas, apparently ending on-again-off-again negotiations.
The fighters finally agreed on a 52-48 split of the purse in Pacquiao's favor.
Arum reportedly gave a copy of the contract to Hatton's U.S. promoter, Richard Schaefer of Golden Boy Promotions, who then forwarded it to Hatton in England.
Schaefer was optimistic Friday that the deal would be completed.
